Dent County Commons Association
The Dent County Commons Association is a chartered and registered Missouri non-profit corporation that manages the Dent County Commons. The Dent County Commons is a privately owned, non-taxpayer supported 74 acre, 2.5 million dollar ($2,500,000.00) facility. The facility is manned wholly and completely by non-paid volunteers from the local community.The Commons is located approximately one mile North-West of the City of Salem on Highway 72. The Dent County Commons offers a Multipurpose Building, a Livestock Barn, a Recreational Vehicle Park, pic-nick pavilions, an Equine Arena and many other amenities.
Usage of the Dent County Commons
1. The Dent County Commons is operated for the benefit of the residents of and the landowners within Dent County, Missouri. The facility is available for the use of but not restricted to the fore-described class of persons This facility is operated without client discrimination and regardless of:- National Origin; or,
- Race; or,
- Political Affiliation(s); or,
- Cultural Origin; or,
- Sexual Preference(s); or,
- Religion or belief system; or,
- Social Status; or,
- Economic Status; or,
- Employer; or,
- Employment Status; or,
- Marital Status; or,
- Physical Disability; or,
- Mental Disability; or,
- Level of Education
2. Fees charged to tax payer supported entities e.g., public school districts, the Department of Defense, the Missouri Department of Conservation, etc., are charged only eighty per cent (80%) of the standard rates for facility use.
3. Fess charged to IRC 501(c)(3) entities and other non-tax payer supported entities e.g., free churches/missions, home schooling coalitions or groups, etc. are weighed on a case-by-case basis by the board of directors. Decisions by the board of directors are final and will not be subject to challenge nor further review.
4. Certain special events may qualify for usage fee discounts other than as are listed above. All such applications will be approached on a case-by-case basis by the board of directors. Again, decisions by the board of directors are final and will not be subject to challenge nor further review.
5. The following classes of persons may be denied entry upon or asked to leave the Dent County Commons:
- Patrons inebriated and/or chemically impaired to the point of presenting a danger to themselves or to others; and/or,
- Patrons inebriated and/or chemically impaired to the point of being verbally or physically obnoxious, crude, lewd or otherwise in any manner blatantly detracting from a family atmosphere; and/or,
- Patrons whom in the past have caused problems upon the facility and are believed by Traffic Control Personnel, Security Personnel, Emergency Management or Safety Officers, or any member of the Board of Directors to likely do so again; and/or,
- When children are present or expected to be present, patrons
whom are known convicted
sex offenders; and/or,
- Patrons whom involve themselves in any domestic or similar situation upon the facility that disturbs the peace and/or is a detriment to the smooth and efficient operation of the facility; and/or,
- Patrons that operate any motor vehicle or bicycle upon the
facility in a manner that could be reasonably expected to pose
a danger to the driver, the passenger(s), pedestrians or
property and/or facility infrastructure.
- Patrons who commit or aid in the commission of a felony or felonies upon the Dent County Commons.
7. The Dent County Commons Association does, pursuant to pertaining state statutes, reserve the right to deny entry upon any and/or all properties under the corporation's control to any person, persons or entity without explanation or justification of any nature. The reservation extends also to those times and dates when the facility or any portion thereof is leased by a third party. For the purpose of definition under law, the Dent County Commons is publicly accessible private property.
8 As a matter of policy, the corporation will seek criminal prosecution of and civil remedy from any person or persons that:
- assaults and/or batters patrons, corporate employees or agents, facility volunteers or any members of the Board of Directors; and/or,
- steals from the corporation; and/or,
- maliciously or intentionally damages facility property and/or infrastructure; and/or,
- leaves without paying or
before making arrangements for paying usage, rental
and/or service fees.
